The James Bond Skyfall Series by Coca-Cola Zero will debut in the UK on October 26th and will for sure become collectors items for fans such as myself.

FiLM FACT: EL MARIACHI

Director, Robert Rodriguez spent $7000 on making El Mariachi. Rodriguez raised $3,000 of the $7,000 by volunteering to be a human “laboratory rat”. He was used to test a cholesterol reducing drug making $100 a day for 30 days. He wrote most of the script while locked in the lab. While there, he met Peter Marquardt, a fellow ” lab rat” and offered him a leading role in the film. Peter, however but could not speak Spanish, so he delivered his lines from his cue cards either held in his hand or out of the shot. Most of the $7,000 was spent on film for the camera. The version seen in most cinemas has had approximately $1 million of post-production work and promotion behind it.

THE BEAST OF THE SOUTHERN WILD

Every once in a while an AMAZING film is created by people you’ve never heard of, starring unknown faces, blindsiding you with an wonderful story, great visuals and creativity. “Beasts of the Southern Wild” is one of the those films. When I originally saw this film I was blown away but currently shooting another one of my own films so I wasn’t able to write about it. But the other day while walking, I saw a poster for it and felt the need to celebrate this film. If you have not see this “Beast”, do so. You will NOT be disappointed. The film stars, cutie and new love of the indie world, Quvenzhané Wallis. She is also set to star in Steve McQueen’s film, “Twelve Years a Slave”. She is definitely on her way to being a star. “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” was directed by Benh Zeitlin, which received a ton of publicity at this year’s Sundance. Zeitlin went on to win the Camera d’Or, given to best first film from the official selection, for the work at the Cannes Film Festival.

Synopsis: In a forgotten but defiant bayou community cut off from the rest of the world by a sprawling levee, a six-year-old girl exists on the brink of orphanhood. Buoyed by her childish optimism and extraordinary imagination, she believes that the natural world is in balance with the universe until a fierce storm changes her reality. Desperate to repair the structure of her world in order to save her ailing father and sinking home, this tiny hero must learn to survive unstoppable catastrophes of epic proportions.

BULLET TO THE HEAD

Sylvestor Stallone’s, Expendables 2 opened this past weekend at number 1 in the Box Office. The film starred Stallone, Terry Crews, Chuck Norris, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Druce Willis, Jean Claude Van Dam, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture and Nan Yu. It looks like Stallone will be back on the screen again next year, doing what he does best… kicking butt, killing people and blowing things up in his up coming film “Bullet to the Head”.

Warner Bros. just released the first trailer for the movie, based on the graphic novel written by Matz and illlustrated by Colin Wilson. The plot centers on a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) who joins up with a New York City cop (Fast Five’s Sung Kang) to form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners. The film will also star, Jason Momoa, Christian Slater and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

TONY SCOTT | 1944 – 2012

Director Tony Scott, best known for films like “Top Gun”, starring Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis and “Beverly Hills Cop 2″ with Eddie Murphy, has died. According to a Los Angeles corner, Scott jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, California around 12:30PM in an apparent suicide.

Born Anthony D.L. Scott in North Shields, England, in 1944, Tony — as he was known — got his start as a teenager in front of the camera, starring in his older brother Ridley Scott’s film “Boy and Bicycle.” In 1995, the two joined forces with his brother Ridley Scott to create the production company, Scott Free Productions.

Actors such as Denzel Washington, Michael Rapaport, Will Smith and Kevin Costner all who have been directed by Scott in different big budget films have all expressed their pain with this loss. Many other producers, actors, directors and filmmakers have tweeted about how not only great Tony was as a director but how nice of person he was. Scott leaves behind his wife, actress, Donna Wilson whom he met on the set of “Days of Thunder” and their two twin sons.
